Drew grew up in Morton, Illinois and attended Morton High School before earning a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from Indiana University – Kelley School of Business. While at Indiana University, Drew spent a semester abroad at Wollongong University in New South Wales, Australia. Mr. Vicary would later return to Australia in law school as part of a white-collar crime semester abroad program.
After Indiana University, Drew lived in Chicago, Illinois for six years working as a freight broker for C.H. Robinson, eventually leaving Chicago to return to school. He earned his Juris Doctor and MBA concurrently from Southern Illinois University – Carbondale. While in law school, Drew clerked for the General Counsel’s office at SIU – Carbondale for two years, after a brief stint serving in the Ombudsman’s Office.
After law school, Drew spent time in the State’s Attorney’s office in Southern Illinois prosecuting traffic and misdemeanor offenses while awaiting bar results, and subsequently performed various transactional work for a private healthcare company. Drew then devoted four years to defending worker’s compensation cases for a mid-size firm with offices located throughout the Midwest. After re-locating to Colorado in 2018, Drew spent two years working for a small firm primarily focusing on workers’ compensation and personal injury litigation before joining The Sawaya Law Firm in 2020.
Drew is a member of the Colorado Bar Association, Colorado Trial Lawyers Association, Workers Compensation Education Association, and is actively licensed in Illinois, Missouri and Colorado.
